Questions and answers

If you cannot find the answer here, just write to me. I read and answer myself.

Do I need to download an app?
No. Everything arrives as an ordinary text message on your phone. You tap the link in the message and the meal plan opens. There is nothing to log in to and nothing to install.
What does it cost?
499 kroner a month. That gives you a new meal plan every Monday, a finished shopping list and all the recipes. There is no lock-in period and no hidden costs.
What if I have allergies?
You tell me your allergies when you sign up, and I keep those ingredients out of your meal plans entirely. Every plan is checked automatically against your list before it is sent, and I read through the ones where there is a judgement to make.
I only cook for myself. Does it still work?
Yes, and that is most people. You tell me how many you cook for, and I work out the recipes and the shopping list accordingly. Cook for one, and you get quantities for one.
I am over 70. Is this for me?
Yes. The service was built precisely for people who would rather not use apps and gadgets. The text is large, the buttons are large, and everything arrives as an ordinary text message. If you can read a text and tap a link, you can use Henriettehagen.
Do I have to weigh myself?
No, it is entirely voluntary. Once a month you get a message where you can enter your weight if you want to. It helps me adjust your plans, but you can leave it, and the meal plans arrive either way.
Can I cancel whenever I like?
Yes. You cancel on My page in two taps, or by sending me a message. You keep access for the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
Who is Henriette?
My name is Henriette Hagen and I hold a bachelor's degree in nutrition from the University of Bergen. I am not a clinical nutritionist. That is a protected title in Norway which requires a master's degree and authorisation from the Norwegian Directorate of Health. Henriettehagen is dietary guidance, not healthcare.
Who makes the meal plans?
The plans are put together according to my professional guidelines and adapted to your allergies, preferences and goals. I have access to every plan before it goes out, and I read through the ones that call for a judgement.
How long does the cooking take?
Most dinners are done in under 40 minutes, and several in under 30. Sunday dinner can take longer if you want something that sits in the oven.
Do I get breakfast and lunch too?
Yes. The plan covers breakfast, lunch and dinner for all seven days. Breakfast and lunch are simpler and tend to repeat through the week, which is how most people actually eat.
Do I have to shop at a particular supermarket?
No. Everything on the shopping list is available in an ordinary Norwegian supermarket: Kiwi, Rema, Coop, Meny or Spar. Nothing has to be ordered online.
Can I print the shopping list?
Yes. The page you reach from the text message is built to be printed, with large type and tick boxes. Many people take it to the shop on paper.
What is the one to one session in Oslo?
It is an hour with me in person in Oslo, for 1 299 kroner. It is an addition, not part of the subscription. The point of it is that I have your whole history in front of me, the plans you have had and how your weight has moved, so we can spend the time on what applies to you.
What happens to my information?
It is used only to make your meal plans and to follow up with you. It is not sold on and not shared with anyone else. You can ask to see it or have it deleted at any time.
I am not good with computers. Can I manage this?
Yes. If you can read a text message and tap a link, you can use Henriettehagen. That is the whole point of the service.
